Kinsey's House - Part Two

Kinsey was fascinated with the tree-like exterior growing on Fairy Hazel's house.
Hazel explained that trees have an innate knowledge that they have a particular purpose in life whether it be for furniture, the walls of a house, or even firewood. However, it has been found that some wood likes to keep growing.
There is a forest creature called an "Ent-elf" who can communicate with the soul of the wood to see if it wants to do so.
Kinsey was quite interested with the idea of a living tree-house. "If the wood of my house wants to grow freely, I shall let it!" she exclaimed.
Hazel said that she would arrange for the Ent-elf to visit Kinsey's house sometime next week, but he would need some area of bare wood available.
(The old siding around the porch area was the first to go.)

During the siding demolition, Kinsey noticed that she had really cheap porch flooring and wanted it to be removed.

Floor boards should not come off in one piece!

The porch ceiling was the same material as the floor so that came down as well.

One stripped-down, bare porch ready for meeting with the Ent-elf.
Cheerio,
Sam.

Early morning - Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! I was enjoying the peace and tranquillity when. . .

Mr Nova joined me and wanted to offer a few tips.

Just relax and take it easy.

Take time to smell the flowers.

And don't forget to snuggle up with those you love!

Have a great day!

Contemporary Ranch

I needed to build a few more rooms onto Dr Zoe's house.  I was stuck for a unique idea when I remembered that I had the Contemporary Ranch kit from Real Good Toys.
This kit has been sitting in a box for many years waiting to be built.
I think this will be the perfect addition.

Now I just need to somehow meld the two houses together!

Cat on a Solid Wood Roof

I am taking a break from working on the Amberwood, and have given Dr Zoe's house a new roof.
The Building inspector was sent out to check that it was sturdy.
I am guessing that it was because he was found SLEEPING on the job!

"Oh, I was not sleeping," said Mr Nova quite groggily. "I was merely resting my eyes whilst testing the roof."

Mr Nova assured me that everything was in order and that construction could continue.
Dr Zoe is quite pleased with the renovations. Here she is, showing off her new living room.

Many of the window and stair cutouts have been filled in and new ones created. Dr Zoe knows exactly how she wants her house to be laid out. In the kitchen, she is planning on renovating this old cast iron stove and surrounding in with stonework.  (Who steals legs off a stove?)

Dr Zoe wanted a big window over the sink so that she can enjoy the sunshine when washing dishes.
But the thing she loves most in this house, is the new window seat in the library.

ZZZZZZzzzzZZ came the sound from the roof.  Looks like Mr Nova was dozing off again!!!
Back to work.
Cheerio,
Sam
